一、prefer……to的用法：
prefer…to…之後接動詞時，均用-ing形式，表示「喜歡……而不喜歡……」。
例如： he prefers walking to cycling．

1、prefer的基本意思是「較喜歡，更喜歡」，多指在兩個或兩個以上的選項中優先選擇其中的一項，多用於「prefer...to...」或「prefer...
rather than」結構，相當於like better或place before the others，因此不能用more或most來修飾它。引申可表示為「寧可」「寧願」等。

5、prefer在不能確定被否定的事物而需徵求對方的意見時，用連線詞or連線兩種供選擇的事物或行為。
6、prefer與rather than連用，接兩個動詞不定式時，第二個動詞不定式常可以省略to，偶爾也可改用動名詞。在書面語中，也可把rather提到第一個動詞不定式前面。
如果兩個動詞不定式相同，而附加修飾成分不同，則可省去動詞不定式，只保留附加的修飾成分。在特別強調時，名詞前也可用rather than。
